Rare early German edition, sometimes described as the second, due to the scarcity/nonexistence of earlier edition; 12mo, illustrated with added engraved title and four additional full-page engravings; the text consisting of the first twenty-two chapters of part one; lacking the half-title; bound in later half sheepskin and marbled paper boards, contents in black letter; toning, trimmed closely, with some top and bottom lines cropped slightly; purchased from Quaritch in 1992; 4 7/8 x 3 in.
