"Ethel Johnson, Girl Wrestler" (Ethel Wingo Hairston, 1935-2018), the first Black woman to be crowned champion, inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021.

"Sweet Georgia Brown, Girl Wrestler--Columbia, South Carolina" (Susie Mae McCoy, 1938-1989), who won the Texas title in 1963.

"Louise Greene, Girl Wrestler," who was active in wrestling from 1951 onward, and faced Ethel Johnson for the championship in 1952.
