First edition, quarto, ex libris English Shakespearean actor John Philip Kemble (1757-1823) with each page inlaid; marked by him, "Collated & Perfect J.P.K. 1798" on frame of title, with edition statement added to title in his hand; bound in full tan calf, rebacked; some headlines and bottom lines cropped; title page torn and mounted; some leaves with stress tears from being mounted in heavier paper; purchased by the present owner in 1973; the leaves 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 in.; including extended margins 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 in.
